Kai Po Che.......The Ahmedabad Movie based on Chetan Bhagat's 3 Mistake of my Life

I love Chetan Bhagat!!!! Why? many reasons

Of course he is the J K Rowling of India.....the person who turned young generation to reading :) isn't it a nice analogy?! :D

Second he has portrayed Ahmedabad in a nice way and wrote a lot about it.....yes my Ahmedabad, your Ahmedabad, our Ahmedabad.....

By the time movie is made on "2 States of my marriage" here is a movie "Kai Po Che" based on 3 Mistakes of My Life, I guess 3rd novel by Chetan.

I was near to Mangal Das ni Haveli @ Lakha Patel ni Pol, few days back, and noticed the shooting going at at Heritage Haveli (house is a too plain word).

Finally finally MegaCity Ahmedabad gets a movie of its own....I don't remember any film either shot in Ahmedabad or having direct and decent references.......

By the way don't think Mangal Das ni Haveli belongs to some seth Mangal Das....LoL.....you guys know about Agashiye? This heritage house was bought by them and rechristened as Mangal Das ni Haveli !!!! as per the tailor uncle who sits next to Mangal Das ni Haveli at the entrace of Lakha Patel ni Pol......

Mangal Das ni Haveli

these AC hose looks interesting

Now ask me where is this Lakha Patel ni Pol located? hmmmm ever heard of Sankadi Sheri (સાંકડી શેરી )? NO what the hell! Don't you watch Tarak Mehta ka Oolta Chasma? The same Tarak Janubhai Mehta was born and brought up in a pol called Zumkhi ni Khadki Sankadi Sheri starts from Raipur Chakla :)) and ends at Manke Chowk touching through Lakha Patel ni Pol.

This are interesting times going on I tell you....Veer Hamirji was exciting, Maulik Pathik did a got job as a brave Gohel Martyr. Kevi Rite Jaish is a superhit I tell you; and it better be a hit.

and now we have KPC....arrey  KPC bole toh Kai Po Che!!!!

and story doesn't end here boss....2 States of my Marriage

Harley Davidson in Ahmedabad

Some companies become synonyms for a class, style or type of product say Ferari for sports car, iPhone for touchphone, Xerox for photocopiers, etc

Harley Davidson is a company which only and only manufactures motorcycles, heavy motorcycles which are classified as Cruisers, these are types of bike on which you can travels for 100s of kilometers...

A whole encyclopedia can be written about Harley Davidson, so lets not get in details....the news is Harley Davidson is coming to Ahmedabad, yes its not a rumor or a joke, its a fact!

Harley Davidson show room work is in progress, likely to be opened in another 7-10 days at S.G. Road....I checked with the owner, the starting price is INR 6.5 lacs on road. I am sure there would be many Harleys on the roads for that price.

The dream come true for all the real enthusiasts, I-have-money-and-want-to-show-off, wanna-be, My-dady-is-rich-man etc.

Note: while I was writing this post, we felt 2 shocks at 10:40 PM yesterday 20-Oct in Ahmedabad :)

4th All gujarat Photography Exhibition and Prize Distribution

I was excited to attend this event as it would showcase work of lensman across Gujarat and I would get chance to meet photography stalwarts like Vivek Desai, Dr Urvish Joshi, Divyesh Sejpal, and Ketan Modi.

When I reached there, only 15-20 people were there...award ceremony started....and guess what who was present there? Pranlal Patel (needs any intro?), Jitendra Desai (father of Vivek Desai, I could relate to him as he had translated Short Stories of Tolstoy in Gujarat) and 2 other elderly gentlemen whose names I don't remember...

good thing about certificate is that the award winning pic, photographers intro & profile pic were included in the certificate...good idea..

Divyesh Sejpal has an amazing profile, Dr. Urvish is barely in his 30s or may be late 20s, contrary to my assumption of being in mid forties :) I saw Dr. Urvish's photos in Amdabad Rocks and like his style since the.....National Geography kind of pics and color result....man I want to master this technique...

About entries.....very good work by some....some average and mundane pics.....and couple of inappropriate pics....that of a crying lady next to a corps of man probably her husband-insensitive! ( my subjective feeling)

I saw pics of some know names Paras Shah, Sonali Dalal, and Bhumika Bhavsar ....nice snaps by them all....

The best thing was, and probably life time opportunity, was to meet Pranlal Patel! He is 102 years young, old is not applicable to him! Unbelievable!!! He looks barely 80-85...by that standard I should look like 10-12 yrs kid lol......He spoke to me....ask about my left hand bandage (advantage you see) with genuine sympathy and added "traffic vadhi gayo che pan traffic sense ghati che". Meeting him was such a pleasant experience.....he looked like a living slice of history....Urvish Kothari can share lots of amazing things about him.

Good work by Ketan Modi (guess he lives at walking distance from my house...learned from his card), volunteers and Manav trust....may be next time I will also participate :)

IIM A Chaos 2011
Night
The opening Day
so Ahmedabad's most awaited, most coveted, and most talked about event Chaos has started with Jagjit Singh Night.

I wrote on mt orkut profile that "gazal listeners and Sonu Nigam fans need not contact me".....fortunately I have changed my opinion.....after listening to Pankaj Udhaas in Times Pune Fest. and Sonu Nigam in Chaos2010.

So how was Jagjit Singh? Good, appealing, and admirable by all sorts of crowd. Guess what he even cracked 3 jokes between his trademark serious & sobbing gazhals....unbelievable :)

Singh like IIM-A turns 70 in 2011....but his energy, perfection and voice command is immaculate

He also made payal like sound through mouth and even did jugaalbandhi. He had good flute maestro and violin player in his group.

Verdict: good but not excellent, like able but not enjoyable, and repetitive-no new gazals or songs. worth listening atleast once in life....I guess he underplayed today.....

Note: I am not admirer of Singh, neither like genre of gazals!
